Guidelines for Pages

I could use some additional guidance for how to maintain consistent pages here on the wiki.

What information should go in the "Object Type" section of the Info Box?
Where should we put the flavor text for Objects? Should it be italicized?
Where should we put the in-game effect for the Object, such as "Increases Hospital Attractiveness and Room Prestige?"
What should go in the caption underneath the Info Box image?

For the Illnesses template, should we add a "Diagnosed at:" section? I also really like what has been done (idk who did it) with the items page where some items have been placed in a table. I think this would work equally well with the rooms and illnesses list.

Making key details like the income you receive when curing a patient and the place an illness is diagnosed and treated at all in a table would be a great addition.

Do who ever made the table have to manually fill in the data or can it be sourced directly from the items info box?

A diagnosed at section wouldn't make sense, there are rooms that diagnose, but you don't send a patient to x-ray for example to diagnose a patient with lightheaded.

As for the table lists, I am working on those, big plans so please don't touch for the time being.
I'm currently doing a table for the illness page, rooms will be next. The data can't be sourced, it is all added manually. But I thoroughly enjoy that part.

Guildlines would be amazing. This wiki is still very much in it's infancy, it takes time to set all these things up. Main objective currently is information dumping in a fairly sensible manner.

Design, images, layouts, menus (infrastructure) are a work in progress with many plans in the pipline. When we can finalise more and more of those aspects, writing guildlines becomes easier and easier. ^^

I feel like a diagnosed at section could still be useful for people. It may become important when a player is working on the efficiency of a hospital and I think is just good information to include all round so that players can get a better understanding of the game.

I think more so towards your own point, why is it necessary to list the staff when you have already listed the room the illness is cured in.

From what I understand, a patient may be sent to any number of Diagnosis rooms, depending on the skill level of your employees. If you have student doctors and nurses, they could even exhaust all the diagnosis rooms without determining the illness with certainty.

I am curious from those who have the demo right now: Do the patients get sent to diagnosis rooms in a particular order (GP --> General Diagnosis --> GP --> Fluid Extraction) or is it random (GP --> X-Ray --> GP --> General Diagnosis)?

I really like the tables as well. Do I have permission to set up a similar table for Qualifications in the Staff Training section?

Also, I was wondering if we could separate Object Type and Object Effect. There is currently a category for "Used For." We could put the Object's effect in that and categorize the Object Types by Treatment, Decorative, Etc. Are there specific object types that the game uses?

Whilst I agree that the means by which a patient is diagnosed does not necessarily change any player decisions. I still believe that as a wiki the information should at the very least be there.

To the best of my knowledge having watched the game, the GP will refer the patient to the correct diagnostic room that will correctly diagnose the problem. I reckon a GP would be able to recognise a mental illness and send them to psychiatry for further diagnosis etc. I may be wrong and am just as curious if it works any other way.

With regards to the object info box, I agree in that there should be a category for the objects effect and i think it should include "+x% Diagnosis Power" and also Decorative / Treatment. I'm less keen on "Used for".

Makes sense. What would you suggest we name the Effect section in the Info Box instead of "Used For"? Effect? Object Effect?

We have a lot of different conversations happening in this thread. We really need to start a new thread for each topic here.

Item Sorting
Diagnosis Section
Training Info Table

I shall go through answers here but if there are any replies, let's get the new sections going. Gets hard to follow otherwise, especially for anybody new turning up.

Currently we really need to focus on the information gaining, getting as much as possible on the wiki rather than design, layout and such. Often you need to know the information before you can come up with the best format for laying the information out, so please don't focus on it too much. In addition, it seems we all have the same or similar ideas anyway, such as object sorting, but there are problems that need solving first and gaining information about the items is the key.

Item Sorting
I completely agree the items need to be sorted and effects seems like a good one, but almost ALL items have effects, so the list gets massive again. We could separate those effects maybe, Boost Effects and Appeal Effects, but we would duplicate a lot of items. Let's get a comprehensive list on the wikia first, with all the little bits of information we can find and then we can all look through and see it in one place and try to solve the problem. In a new thread XD

Diagnosis Section
I been talking to devs about this one, MJHunter is right, GPs do have preferred diagnosis locations for each illness. There is some crazy maths involved depending on the GP skill level, but a decent GP will send a Fractured Bones patient to x-ray if they are having trouble diagnosing, for example. So I am all for this section being added. Some are obvious, others aren't. Let's do our best working them out and then I can always see about getting a dev to skim over them when complete.

Training Info Table
I like this idea. I still think we need to know more about the training courses to make sure the table has all the sections we need it to have, including room for icons in the future. And we will want to break them down into categories. So yes to table, let's get the list as complete as possible first

I am aware you don't have the game, but my vids and lots of other let's plays have loads of content currently not on the wiki which will help starting filling in big gaps.

I've checked over a bunch of edits this morning and they are all fantastic!

Phew! I hope all this helped and was useful and I shall be sure to check out any further comments about these sections anyone may have in new threads. :)
